More than 40 participants joined the back-to-back annual meetings of INES2 and NorESM4CMIP7 in Bergen, hosted by NORCE. A common theme in both meetings was the imminent participation in phase 7 of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP7) with NorESM3. INES2 focused on the technical completion of NorESM3 and the infrastructure challenges related to CMIP7 participation, while NorESM4CMIP7 looked at model performance and how we can best contribute to answering research questions in the wide range of simulations planned for CMIP7. In addition, the status of exciting new model developments and research that are due later in the projects was presented and discussed.
