The NorESM developer team from seven Norwegian climate institutes met for three sunny April days in Geilo, halfway between Bergen and Oslo, to kickoff two NFR funded projects:
The infrastructure project INES2
The climate research project NorESM4CMIP7
Both projects are respectively led by NORCE and MET Norway, and will allow the Norwegian climate community to contribute to the next IPCC report with updated, refined simulations of future climate evolution. While the focus in the first project year will be technical, important science results are expected on explaining recent climate warming trends, the remaining carbon budget and climate impacts of different future scenarios of warming.
